I was watching the Denver Broncos take on the New England Patriots in the AFC divisional playoffs last weekend and was excited for the match-up between Tim Tebow and Tom Brady. Then I happen to come across this Nike commercial on TV about the Kobe System. People had always asked me about who inspired me and I had stated that it was without doubt Kobe Bryant. Then everybody would rebuff that he was an NBA player and how could I use him as a role model. Well, this ad definitely shows that anybody can take inspiration!
As I was pondering about this, I saw an article on NBA.com about how Jordan had told Roland Lazenby who is currently writing an MJ book the following
Kobe’s ultimate competition is MJ. That’s why MJ watches him. MJ made people think what he was doing wasn’t human. Ditto the Kobester.
I never said Kobe was better than MJ. MJ just told me Kobe’s the only one to have done the work, to deserve comparison.[1][2]

I know this still doesn’t answer that famous question “the Next Michael Jordan” but it has come from MJ himself that he thinks that the Lakers guard comes close to matching him. But seriously, is Kobe only going be remembered as the best player in the post-Jordan era. I would suggest here that Kobe could potentially surpass Jordan with the number of championships won and other basketball accomplishments. He may not have the same mystique as MJ, but only time will tell how Kobe will be remembered.
Check out this video about Mark Jackson stating that Kobe will go down as the best.
In other news, Kobe not signing a prenuptial agreement is going to hurt him financially since he will be giving his ex-wife Vanessa two mansions and other financial assets amounting to $75M. This is because the couple was married for 10 years and she is entitled to maintain her standard of living.
